Special Education Teacher – Special Day Class (SDC)
Pittsburg, California
Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
ISO Workforce Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a collaborative school team in Pittsburg, California for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an excellent opportunity for an Education Specialist who is passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
About the Opportunity
As a Special Day Class (SDC) Teacher, you will provide specialized academic instruction and individualized support to students with disabilities while collaborating closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction aligned with each student’s educational goals
- Foster a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, service providers, and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations
- Utilize evidence-based instructional and behavioral support strategies
- Promote student independence, social-emotional growth, and academic success
Qualifications
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential
- Appropriate Special Education authorization
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and California Special Education compliance
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- School-based Special Education experience preferred, but qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply
